Sprinkler Surprise

Slid down from that solar light post right onto the damp morning turf. Then, click-hiss! A pop-up garden sprinkler shot straight out of the lawn beside the walkway, spinning a heavy spray of cold water right across my path. Retreat? Never heard of it! I broke into an instant dash, locked onto the wet concrete ahead, and ducked right beneath the arching mist. Cold droplets sprayed across my brow, but my sneakers bit into the slick pavement like claws. Cleared the water zone in a clean slide, totally soaked and totally victorious!
