A Soft Discovery
I stepped down from the cushion onto the woven rug. It felt scratchy, but firm under my small feet. Nearby, a thick wool sock lay rolled like a tiny cloud. I paused, watching it carefully before taking another step. Then, using my trunk, I gently nudged the edge of the wool. It unrolled just a little, releasing a soft, comforting scent of fresh laundry. I tucked my front paws against it and settled down to listen to the steady hum of the refrigerator.
