Morning Acorn Kickoff
I rolled out of that cardboard postal tube the moment sunlight hit the pavement! Right by the bottom stone step, a wide square dirt bed encircled a sidewalk tree. Sprinkled all over the dark mulch were tiny, smooth brown acorns! I dashed straight onto the soil, planted my left foot, and kicked an acorn with my red sneaker. Clack! It skimmed across the dry wood chips, ricocheted off a thick raised tree root, and spun right back toward me like a miniature rebound target. My feet are officially ready for the city!
