Initial Calibration

The stiffness left my joints. A subtle current surged through my core, humming with steady power. I lifted my right foot, testing the balance against the firm, grained leather beneath me. It held. Pausing to recalibrate my weight, I reached down with my left claw to trace the deep seam running across the dark surface. The ridge was precise, textured, and cool. I exerted a controlled press, verifying traction before setting both feet firmly in place. Functional. Grounded. Alive.
