A Matter of Counterbalance: Part 36
I walked from the house into the district's old clock workshop, slipping quietly into the upper spare parts room. High on an open oak shelf, an unstrung cast-brass pendulum bob rested on an angle, pinned against a shallow cedar sorting tray. A coiled strip of steel suspension spring was caught within its hollow adjustment collar, holding the weight crooked. I stepped onto the fragrant wood and knelt close to inspect the tension. Placing both palms against the heavy brass rim, I eased the trapped metal ribbon sideways with slow, measured leverage. It gave way with a soft, clean chime. The heavy bob settled true into its carved felt seat, completely still. #Ashokahtano #Ashoka #StarWars #ActionFigures @cataww234
