Rotational Momentum

An overturned mechanical wristwatch lay beside the sofa leg. Its polished stainless steel links curved in an intact loop across the floorboards. I engaged my shoulder servos and tipped the casing onto its side. It wobbled, then began a rapid rotational spin. I lowered my center of mass, locking my joints in an analytical crouch. The metallic reflections blurred into a continuous silver disc. I extended one clawed digit, intercepting the outer rim at the precise apex of its wobble. The inertia ceased instantly. Balance preserved.
