A Bed in the Seed Bin
I scrambled down from the workbench as the shadows deepened into night! Tucked inside an open wooden storage bin on the floor was a clean, folded canvas seed sack. Kneeling on its stiff cloth, I found an unused knit cuff from an old work glove, ribbed and warm. With both black mittens, I rolled the cuff wide open and propped it up like a hollow bolster against the bin's timber wall. Nestling my plush fleece body right into the soft crease of canvas, I rested my carrot nose on the springy knit edge. The sturdy cedar sides block every draft, making the snuggest night hideaway!
