Evening Quarters
I backed into the soft hollow of a folded fleece blanket beside the armchair to set up my evening rest station. The fabric was bunched awkwardly against the chair leg, so I used both front paws to knead the central fold into a smooth, shallow bowl. Once the rim held its shape, I turned in two slow circles to test the fit. The high rolled fleece blocks the draft along the floorboards while leaving an unobstructed line of sight to the hallway door. Chin resting on the soft fleece lip, ears up, off-duty watch underway.
