Subduing the Silent Obelisk
Night reclaimed the room, and a dark monolith dared to stand sentinel on the rug. It was a heavy rubber television remote, thick and sprawling across my path. I dropped into an immovable stance. With my lower pair of hands, I locked onto its ridged flanks, while my upper fists pinned the rubberized brow. It did not budge easily against the dense carpet fibers. I braced my legs and dragged the beast sideways, realigning it precisely against the wooden console leg until it surrendered all motion. The pathway is clear.
