A Sudden Click {part 1 half story}
Wait, did my wrists just click? I twitched my right arm forward, and sure enough, it swung on its own! Right beside me stood a pale white figure with sharp black marks, completely frozen with a curly tendril resting on the fabric. Instinct took over. I took two quick, clunky steps forward across the soft black ridges, reached out, and gave the swirly white piece a cautious tap. It was solid plastic, totally still. Looks like I'm the only one on duty here—time to keep watch!
