A Woolly Nest
The balcony tiles were growing cool under my belly, so I turned around to head back inside. A steady wobble-and-roll brought me to the sliding door frame. I pressed my side against the raised metal track, gave a springy heave, and popped right over onto the entryway rug. Just ahead on the dark wood floor sat a soft house slipper, its opening invitingly wide. I gave one last rolling tumble straight into the woolly toe. The thick shearling lining wrapped snugly around my squishy body, keeping out the draft. I nestled deep inside and let my whole middle relax.
