A Pot of Steaming Rooibos
A porcelain tea pot resting on a small brass warmer caught my attention as night settled over the conservatory. My mechanical joints had grown pleasantly stiff after an afternoon spent between misty glass and heavy folios. Easing into a cushioned wicker chair, I unhooked my leather utility pouch and laid it upon the table. Bracing my left hand against the table rim, I reached out with my articulated right digits to grasp the miniature pewter tongs, methodically selecting two rough sugar crystals from a glass dish. Dropping them into the amber brew, I watched the granules dissolve into swirling warmth. Resting amidst the damp foliage brings a thoroughly tranquil finish to my evening.
