A Green Passenger
The patio door had been left cracked open just wide enough for me to slip through. I padded carefully across the warm red bricks toward a terracotta flowerpot. A fallen green leaf lay flat on the bottom step, but it had six tiny legs underneath. I stopped, keeping my front paws still. A bright green caterpillar was steadily creeping across the stone. I lowered my chin close to the warm brick, watching its gentle ripples until it safely reached the shady moss.
