Too Loud, Too Close

My neck twitched. Great, now I exist. I opened my eyes and found myself wedged on the floor right beside a lineup of staring plushies and a bunch of dusty shoes. The brown bear plush next to me had its round ear practically poking into my space. Annoying. I leaned my spiky head sideways and bumped my shoulder into the bear, nudging it an inch away to claim some breathing room. It didn't push back, just sat there staring into nothing. Fine by me. Less talking, less moving. I leaned back against the bottom drawer of the wooden cabinet and stared blankly ahead. Exhausting already.
