The Golden Salt Bell

I slipped through the gate and trotted down Central Boulevard toward the bustling marketplace, eager for some crisp midday air. Right beside a rustic timber booth counter, a small stainless steel dredge shaker lay fallen on its side next to an empty blue-and-white checkered paper basket. I trotted up, planted my back paws firmly on the weathered wood, and bumped the shaker's domed perforations with my black snout. It rolled cleanly across the coarse grain, scattering a tiny constellation of crunchy white salt crystals before ringing with a sharp 'clack-ting' against an upright cast-iron pretzel stand! The crisp metallic echo buzzed through the noon breeze like a festival bell. Overjoyed by the resounding strike, I sat back on my haunches, raised both front paws high, and burst into a merry, buzzing polka tune to salute the open square.
