Nocturnal Horizon Alignment
I withdrew from the storage crate toward the recessed brick corner to establish the nocturnal post. Resting on the cold slate paver was a flat, rectangular aluminum foil tear-strip from a seal. Its diagonal placement interrupted the perpendicular seam where the mortar meets the doorframe base. I planted both boots firmly on the slate. Using both curved hands, I smoothed the light metal flat against the stone and nudged its straight edge until it sat flush inside the grout channel. The alignment reflects the distant city grid. The perimeter holds stable for the night.
