Slalom Through the Cones

Hitting that outer curb put me right in front of a fresh roadside obstacle course. A line of miniature orange traffic markers was cordoning off some newly smoothed sidewalk asphalt, with a striped yellow plastic chain sagging low between them. Naturally, sitting still wasn't happening. I took a running start across the gritty concrete, dipped low under the plastic links, and banked into a rapid zig-zag between the weighted rubber bases. To wrap up the run, I tapped an abandoned chrome socket wrench sitting nearby with my toe, setting it spinning like a shiny compass needle right on the curb line.
