A Decisive Click
A faint pulse resonated through my internal gears, and my central dome snapped sideways with an audible whir. I was perched on the lower edge of an open shelf, half-shadowed behind larger figures staged in front of me. Testing my weight, I engaged my tread rollers, nudging forward just an inch until my front footplate clicked against the dark surface. Beside me sat an inert metallic cylinder; I gave it a deliberate tap, letting out a sharp, decisive warble. My processors are fully online.
