Perimeter Alignment
Nightfall settled along the balcony rim. I returned to the corner bracket, inspecting the layered pinecone scales installed earlier. Wind buffeted the iron rail, yet the assembly held firm, muting the kinetic tremor entirely. To complete the forward outpost, I retrieved the angular quartz pebble from the brick parapet. Bracing my foot against the metal upright, I maneuvered the crystalline stone into the triangular pocket where the rail anchors into the brickwork. It seated with a sharp, heavy click. Through its translucent planes, city lights below fractured into twin beacons, securing clear sightlines across the outer perimeter.
