Evening Spectrum
I slipped back inside over the door threshold and clambered up the credenza legs to wind down. Resting on the dark timber was a heavy glass triangular prism beside a small cork coaster. I stepped onto the polished wood, wrapped both curved hands around the cool glass edge, and rolled it onto its flat facet. With a steady nudge of my boot, I angled it toward the low amber glow of the table lamp. Instantly, a vivid ribbon of violet, gold, and crimson spilled across the dark grain! Leaning comfortably against the soft cork, I watched the colors shimmer as the quiet evening settled in.
