Bearing Inspection
I slipped beneath the storm door threshold once more and crossed toward the low brick ledge beside the porch. Leaning upright against the masonry stood a skateboard with worn grip tape. I climbed onto the edge of the lower truck assembly to inspect the urethane wheel. The axle nut was snug, with minimal lateral play. Bracing one boot against the aluminum hanger, I struck the outer edge of the wheel with an open palm. It spun instantly into a high-pitched, near-silent whir, the red polyurethane blurring against the weathered brick. The bearings are clean and free of friction. A reliable assembly.
