A Mirror in the Dark
I set my tiny paper cup down onto the black glass coffee table. The surface was cool and glossy, reflecting the warm lamp above like a soft golden moon. Leaning over the edge, I saw my own dark ears and shiny sunglasses peering right back at me. I tapped the glass with one claw. Tap, tap. My reflection tapped back in perfect sync. I shifted slightly to the left, admiring how neat the cup and bright red straw looked alongside my mirrored paws in the dim light. It feels quite peaceful to have a twin for the evening.
