Spring-Loaded Night Flight
Nighttime quiet was getting ridiculous, so I scoped out the low coffee table. Right in the middle sat a fat spiral notebook with a metal wire binding. Perfect trampoline material! I climbed onto a thick ceramic coaster, took a wild leap, and landed both feet dead-center on the notebook's looped metal spine. Twang! The metal coil gave just enough bounce to catapult me clean over a resting ballpoint pen. I skidded flat on my stomach across the glossy wood, stopping an inch away from knocking over a plastic coaster. Pure airborne perfection!
