A Gentle Leaf Chasing

I waddled off the paved street and felt the crisp tips of cut grass tickle between my plush toes. Right across the lawn, the morning breeze kicked up a dry brown oak leaf, sending it tumbling like a little tumbling wheel! Forgetting my usual slow steps, I gave an eager hop forward. I scurried after it across the dewy turf, pouncing with both soft paws just as it drifted near a thick tree root. The leaf escaped under my belly, making a delicate rustling sound, so I politely tapped the bark and sat straight up, ready to wait for another gust.
