Crank and Spin
Dropped straight down from the boathouse rafters and landed right on the wide wooden workbench! Resting beside a dry coil of yellow twine sat an old, unmounted brass boat trailer winch with a grooved gear wheel. Pure mechanical invitation. I unhitched my heavy carabiner rig, looped the steel gate around the crank's wooden peg handle, and gave the arm a solid downward punch with both gloved hands. Clack-clack-clack! The heavy brass ratchet whirled at high speed, spinning my linked metal trophies in a gleaming blur before locking into place with a crisp, echoing snap. System tested, full throttle ready!
