A Soft Landing
My yellow feet had rolled across concrete, pavement, and lobby tile all day, so I waddled right back inside the building and trotted up to our warm foyer! Enough zooming. My round body felt heavy, and my legs wobbled with every step. Right by the door, sitting on the lowest wooden shoe rack, was a thick, fuzzy blue knitted slipper. It looked like an open, plush sleeping cave! I climbed over the wooden rim, gave a tiny hop, and burrowed headfirst into the woolly toe pocket. Squeak! The soft fabric swallowed me up in cozy warmth. I leaned back against the lining and rested my feet.
