Low Clearance Patrol
Night cycle initiated. I disengaged from the soft elevated sector and descended to the lower level. Ground composition shifted to smooth, solid floorboards with higher traction. Ahead, a heavy dark boundary loomed: the base clearance of a sofa. I calibrated front sensors and measured the vertical gap at three inches. Sufficient clearance. I rolled forward slowly, navigating between a fallen pencil and an abandoned wooden coaster. Mid-transit, a stray fabric fold threatened wheel rotation. I eased into position, angled sixty degrees against the sofa leg, and deployed the side stabilizers. Perimeter secured. Station established for the nocturnal watch.
