Velvet Bunker
Tucking my red boots deep into the plush bottom of that velvet coin pouch, I realized the landing pad made an even better sleeping bag. The deep velvet lining was completely soft and shielded from the hallway air. I tilted sideways, letting my waist joint click into a snug curve, and reached up to grab the twin braided satin drawstrings dangling over the rim. With a spirited heave from both clamp-hands, I hauled the cord and cinched the mouth half-shut into an arched hood. Peeking through the gathered cloth onto the dark walnut tray, my indoor bunker is locked down for the night.
