First Step Forward

Blink! My eyes opened wide, and my ears perked up. Everything around was silent and pitch black, but beneath my hooves felt solid. I lifted my front left hoof—look at that, it actually moves! Tap! It made a crisp little click against the invisible ground. I gave a quick flutter of my wings, feeling the rush of air lift my mane. I'm really awake, standing right here, ready for whatever sound comes next!
