First Step on Solid Ground

Silence. I opened my eyes to a wide expanse of polished wood. Before me stood a towering white figure, frozen in silence. I did not rush. I observed. The weight in my limbs stirred, firm and heavy. I took a deliberate step forward, claws gripping the grain. Reaching out with my left arm, I gently nudged the edge of its white foot armor. A dull tap echoed across the timber. It did not move. I stood grounded, master of my own stance.
