A Rolling Companion
I nudged past the open screen door and tumbled softly down onto the garden flagstones. The stones felt warm and rough beneath my squishy belly. Right ahead lay a smooth, shiny brown acorn cap. Mm! I gave a little wobble, threw my weight forward, and bonked gently into its curved side. Clack! It spun forward across the stone. I rolled right after it, bouncing over tiny cracks until we both tumbled to a halt beside a soft clump of emerald moss. A tiny, muffled hum buzzed happily in my chest.
