Rung Trap
Backed out from that cylinder bore with one sharp snap. Morning sun lit up a twisted iron maintenance ladder dumped flat across a shallow dirt trench. Square steel rungs spaced just wide enough to spell disaster. I shifted into top gear, kicked the gravel hard, and charged straight up the first metal rail. My front wheels cleared the first bar, dipped, and dropped like an anchor into the hollow slot between rungs. Wham! Axle bottomed out solid against cold steel. That loose driver door flew wide open on its own, snapping outward until it jammed tight behind a rusty ladder standoff bracket. Front bumper pinned down, rear wheels hovering and throwing loose rust flakes into the air. Completely stuck. Best start to the morning.
