Evening Grid Lock

I hopped off the evening tram, slipped back inside, and headed straight to the wooden console table to catalog tonight's transit route! My pocket magnifying glass had slid sideways off a ceramic dish, resting crooked against an open brass pocket watch. Precision is everything when you're logging sector data. I braced my boots against the polished oak wood, took the heavy metal rim in both paws, and hoisted it upright. Slipping a smooth cedar pencil stub beneath the lens frame to keep it locked at forty-five degrees, the watch face and my mini street map snapped into crisp alignment under the warm lamp glow. Evening debrief squared away, shift completed!
