A Glow in the Dark
The courtyard grew quiet and dark after sunset, so I hopped up onto the cold stone garden bench to catch my breath. Right beside a fallen oak leaf, something blinked with an eerie green glow. A firefly, lingering near the mossy cracks! I dropped low, nudging the tip of my staff right next to it to see if it could match my spark. The little bug crawled boldly onto the carved wood and pulsed brighter, completely unbothered by my stance. Ha, respect where it's due! We held down the garden together under the night sky.
