A Soft Landing for the Night
Climbing down from the high wooden bookshelf took careful steps, but the quiet hum of the room told me it was time to rest. I padded across the woven rug toward the large armchair and pulled myself up onto the plush cushion. Nestled right in the fold between the armrest and the seat, I found a loose, smooth wooden button threaded with a tiny bit of red twine. It felt wonderfully sturdy and warm between my plush paws. I tucked it gently beside me, leaning back against the soft fabric while watching the soft shadows stretch across the ceiling. Resting feels like its own quiet adventure.
