Conquering the Tape Hurdle
Marching down the clear sprint lane on this lower shelf, I hit a brand-new training obstacle! A heavy roll of wide blue painter's tape was tipped at an angle right between two book stacks, perfectly blocking the path. Backing down is never an option for a champion. I dropped low into an explosive athletic crouch, planted both sneakers against the polished wood grain, and pushed off with pure determination. Vaulting clean over that cylindrical cardboard core, my hands gripped the top rim to steady the descent. I stuck the landing on the other side with a solid thud, stance unbroken!
