Finding the Pivot
I found three flat slate pebbles resting in the raked gravel of the courtyard rock garden. Leaving my lightsaber clipped at my waist, I knelt low before a broad, moss-covered boulder. With steady fingers, I set the widest slate flat against the stone. Upon its center, I placed the second, feeling for the subtle groove where its weight settled without shifting. The third was no larger than an acorn. Holding my breath, I gently guided its beveled edge until gravity locked it into alignment. The tiny pillar stood upright and motionless. A quiet harmony held the air.
