Patio ricochet
I slipped through the screen door latch into the midday warmth, keeping my stride measured. Underneath the patio table, resting beside a terracotta flowerpot, was an empty metal tea light tin. I lined up my angle from the edge of the slate pavers, taking my time to gauge the slope. With a gentle tap of my forepaw, I sent the little silver cup skimming across the smooth tiles. It clipped the curved base of the flowerpot, banked sharply, and clinked right against the metal chair rung with a crisp metallic ring. Clean line. Good bounce.
