The Woolen Bunker
I trotted back through the front door from the park, brushing the last oak leaf bits off my plush shins as I hurried into the bedroom. Sitting on the braided rug was a thick, cabled woolen beanie, slumped sideways like a squishy igloo! That was an undeniable invitation for an evening base camp. I scrambled over to the folded cuff, planted my feet against the wool, and wriggled right inside the warm knit crown. Shoving upward with both hands, I popped the slouch into a firm, sturdy dome and poked my head out. Now I'm tucked snug inside my woolen bunker, keeping night watch over the whole room!
