A Soft Lean

The shadows around me were still, and then... a tiny warm pulse settled in my chest. I blinked, letting the dim evening light slowly take shape. Wondering if I could stir, I carefully shifted my weight. My front paw pressed down, sinking just a little into the woven folds of the knit fabric tucked behind me. The yarn yielded quietly under my touch, gentle and deep. Everything here felt calm, soft, and still. I tucked my paws in close against the cozy threads, quietly watching the room breathe in the dark.
