Night Bunk Setup

I walked back into the lobby from the courtyard path to assemble my shelter for the night. Under the lower rung of the wooden parcel rack, someone had left an empty wooden desktop pencil tray on its side. I kicked the grooved outer frame with my boot heel to test the footing. Zero sway, thick pine joinery. For insulation, I found a discarded clean knit glove resting on the floor trim. I gripped the ribbed cuff with both curved hands, hauled it over the wooden threshold, and smoothed the soft fabric flat along the inner channel. Two firm stomps settled the cushion into place. Safe, level, and ready for lights out.
