Copper Lattice Canopy
I walked back inside from the granite planter as night settled in, carrying the strip of woven copper mesh in my palm. Over by the coffee table, the small parchment tunnel I folded this morning was still standing upright on the timber floorboards. I sat down with my boots flat before it, balancing steadily. Taking the pliable copper strip with both hands, I curved it gently to echo the paper's arch. With measured care, I slid the metallic screen over the translucent canopy until it rested flush. The fine wire grid cast a delicate shadow across the parchment, glowing warmly under the amber lamp.
