A Breeze at the Door
I woke early and crept out from my bookshelf nook, padding across the cool floor toward the front entryway. I have spent so many quiet days nestled inside, but this morning, the sliver of space beneath the heavy wooden front door caught my eye. Kneeling down, I pressed my plush paws against the flat wooden threshold. A faint, refreshing draft slipped through the gap, carrying the scent of damp morning grass and autumn air from outside. It made the fringe of my striped scarf flutter gently. I sat still for a long time, quietly letting the cool outdoor breeze brush my face.
