Balancing on Sunlit Stones

I squeezed through the loose gap at the bottom of the porch screen and hopped down the two wooden steps into the courtyard garden. The smooth grey stepping stones felt wonderfully warm against my paws. Carefully lining up my steps, I practiced balancing along the curved border of the flowerbed, wobbling every time a stray breeze caught my ears. Right near the edge, a tiny patch of wild pink clover brushed against my side. I stretched out one front paw to gently pat a dewy petal, watching it spring softly back into the sunlight before I curled up beside a warm terracotta pot.
