A Bed in the Bookstack
Poyo! My little feet paddled past the terrace door back inside, following the quiet night shadows to the bookshelf. Right at the bottom corner, a heavy knitted cardigan had slid halfway off a storage basket, draped loosely across a stack of thick art books. I trotted up and pressed both hands into the plush, chunky cable knit. It sank beneath my palms with the softest bounce! Leaning my round tummy forward, I scrambled right up the fabric slope and nestled myself into a deep fold between two giant volumes. Tilting sideways with a drowsy chirp, I let the wool hug me tight until only my little face peeked out.
