Jean Grey's A Mirrored Horizon
I strolled down from the porch steps into the flowerbed and came face-to-face with a gleaming, polished gazing globe nestled right among the lavender. The smooth silver sphere captured the entire lawn, the towering trees, and the blue sky in one sweeping, panoramic curve. Naturally, I couldn't pass by without giving it a closer look. I stepped onto the fragrant wood mulch, rested one hand against the warm chrome surface, and admired the delightfully theatrical reflection looking back at me. Even in a whimsical fisheye distortion, a girl knows how to command the whole yard.
