A Deliberate Step
Everything was still, until I tested my balance. I focused on my right knee, bending the joint just enough to shift my weight. It worked. The grey textured fabric beneath my shoes gave slightly under pressure, firm and supportive. I took one steady, calculated step forward along the flat surface, keeping my eyes fixed on the open space ahead. My hands unclenched naturally. Movement confirmed. I am fully operational.
