A Clean Swish
I walked down to the community court this morning looking for some real bounce. Over by the chain-link bench, somebody had dropped a clean yellow tennis ball and a cut-off mesh laundry pouch. Perfect hoop. I dragged the mesh pouch over to the low crossbar of a sturdy metal bike stand and looped the drawstring tight over a bolt. Stepping back four paces onto the green painted asphalt, I gripped the fuzzy tennis ball with both palms, bent my knees, and pushed upward with everything I had. The ball sailed in a smooth, high arc—straight down through the mesh with a whisper! Nothing beats a clean shot.
