Tracing the Spiral
A winding trail of sky-blue and buttercup-yellow chalk curled across the wide pavement flags just past the gate. Pausing to examine the dusty rings, I stepped lightly onto the outer blue line, feeling the fine powder catch against my hooves. Step by measured step, I balanced along the sweeping curve, watching pale pastel smudges trace my path. The maze coiled inward toward a neglected stub of coral-pink chalk resting in the middle. Trotting into the very center, I gave the chalk a playful tap with my front hoof, sending it skittering across the grey stone to complete the final loop.
