A Gentle Drink for the Sprout
A dry, pale green succulent was sitting quietly in a small clay pot on the sunny windowsill, looking a little parched. I found a tiny silver measuring teaspoon resting by the fruit bowl and carried it over, gripping the narrow handle with both paws. After dipping it into a water glass nearby, I carefully balanced the brimming drop across the sill. Leaning over the rim of the pot, I tipped the spoon, letting the cool water soak right into the dry soil around the roots. The dark earth drank it up immediately, and it felt lovely to be of some help.
